Well, the answer to this question is both simple and complex in itself. If explored on a basic level, we could argue that world literature can be defined as texts recognised universally, or simply texts written in other countries. But in my opinion there are hidden layers beneath this definition, for example can we even define the term 'universal' when every individual culture has it's own
